Big Jim was a line of action figures produced by Mattel in the 1970s and 1980s. One of the figures in the line was Big Jim Firefighter, a firefighter action figure.

Big Jim Firefighter was released in 1975 and was part of the Rescue Rig set. The figure stood at 11 inches tall and was fully poseable. He wore a firefighter uniform.  The uniform was produced for the European Market by Congost and does differ from the US Set.

The Rescue Rig set also included a fire truck with a ladder that could be raised and lowered, as well as a stretcher for rescuing people from burning buildings.

The Congost Set was made for the European Market in Spain in 1976.  The carded set here is incomplete as the card has cracked and a couple of items have been lost.

Big Jim Firefighter was designed to be a realistic and heroic representation of a firefighter, and he was a popular toy among children who were interested in emergency services and rescue operations.
